Sora is really nice.

[So, yeah. He may be very shy and awkward, but deep down he has a ton of protag energy.]

. . . I think they don't know why they were brought here, or why we were. It may have been an accident or a mistake. But I haven't met one person yet who I think might have brought us here with bad intentions.

I don't see anything wrong with hoping for the best while preparing for the worst. I'd like to trust them too - but it's a bit of a tricky situation we've found ourselves in.
