[ nothing like a snack after watching someone get decapitated... haha... ha... except once clem sees someone else is in the kitchen she seems to completely drop her original plan of getting food and now she's just. here. ]

... You shouldn't have to watch stuff like that.

[There's something about the way she says that that bothers him - the idea that he's particularly fragile.]

[ less because he, as an individual is fragile, and more because kids in general shouldn't have to. from what she gathers, other people's worlds aren't like hers - so do kids really need to see that kind of violence? death?

week 4; monday

[Let's say the location is the manson! Mob is poking around inside it a little, or he can be right outside. Where's Clem?]

[stillnot]

[ clem is inside, continuing in her habit of being hyper-vigilant. she's going around and making note of where entrances and exits are, and tapping on walls before going into rooms. you know. like normal people do. ]

[He's here, too! He's just kind of wandering around the mansion. But when he runs into Clem, he's a little startled.]

Ah! Sorry, sorry!

[stillnot]

[ good thing she's mostly just doing this patrol out of habit. she knows there's no walkers around, so even startled she just - steps back. ]

It's alright. What are you doing out here - just exploring?

Mm. I was just looking around. Sorry - was I interrupting you?

[He's just pretty fearless when it comes to a lot of things that aren't social anxiety related, so wandering around a ghost mansion means nothing. Anyway, have a memory:

Mob and some weird friends of his are breaking into a base of an evil organization, Claw. Mob is with his ghost friend Dimple and his ESPer friend Hanazawa (currently wearing an awful blonde wig).

As they’re trying to break in, one of the members of the organization, Terada, attacks with his air whip abilities, and throws trees at Mob and Hanazawa.

Hanazawa is doing most of the fighting. Mob is being pretty useless here. When trees land on him, Hanazawa asks if he’s all right. Mob is fine after having trees thrown at him, but says “That startled me! Why did trees fall from the sky?”

However, Hanazawa, even giving it all he’s got, starts to lose to Terada.

Hanazawa: Kageyama-kun! While I’m concentrating on the whips, do something!

Shigeo: . . . I guess there are a lot of ways to use powers.

Mob is watching Terada’s special air whip ability, which he’s currently using to hold two trees in the air. Mob copies it, and makes both trees slam into Terada, knocking him out and ending the fight.

Hanazawa: . . . Apparently technique means nothing before absolute power. You were finished as soon as Kageyama-kun considered you his enemy.

On the way in, they run into two security guards. Hanazawa knocks them out, and Dimple possesses one of them. They manage to get inside the building. Hanazawa is again doing all of the work -- knocking out security cameras, taking out guards. At one point, someone spots them and starts to raise an alarm, before both Hanazawa and Mob raise their hands and knock him with extremely strong force back into a wall.

Dimple: What the hell! Are you trying to kill him?

Hanazawa: It’s because we both hit him at once. Listen up, Kageyama-kun. Leave all the grunts to me. First we need to find out where they’re holding your brother.

Shigeo: (awkwardly) Oh. . . right, sorry.

Hanazawa is being very nice and friendly, but seems to be struggling with how Mob is just approaching all of this with a very subdued and awkward attitude, despite his immense amount of power. In contrast, Hanazawa seems really skilled and capable at all of this. Another Claw member sees them and starts to shout, and Hanazawa casually slams them against the ceiling.

Hanazawa: You abducted some kids, didn’t you? Tell us where they are.

Claw member: The. . . the children are in the basement.

Hanazawa (smiling at Mob while lets this guy drop to the floor): He said the basement!

Dimple: (encouragingly) Shigeo, apparently Ritsu’s here!

Shigeo: (relieved) Thank goodness!

Finally, they reach a fork on their way to the basement. They decide to split up, but instead another Claw member, Koyama, steps out. Mob instantly recognizes Koyama -- he is the one who abducted Mob’s brother, Ritsu. In their last encounter, he hurt Mob pretty badly, but Mob managed to defeat him by the skin of his teeth after a brutal fight. Still, Mob wound up more injured from it, so Koyama was able to get away with Ritsu. Hanazawa is obviously very nervous about this. Koyama looks very strong.

Mob is about as blank as he usually looks, but there’s a vibe there that he kind of hates this guy.

Koyama: I beat the crap out of you and you can still move? Well, I’m glad you’re doing well. I’ll kill you this time for real.

Hanazawa: Let’s both hit him at the same time with our full powers.

Mob raises a hand to silence Hanazawa.

Shigeo: We don’t have time right now.

Koyama: (laughing) You don’t have time? What? You trying to reserve your stamina? When you’re facing me? You stupid brats!

Laughing, he charges at them, powered up. Hanazawa, alarmed, braces himself, but Mob just walks calmly towards him, freezes him in place with his powers, and then slams him with telekinesis all around the room into the walls and ceiling rapidly about a hundred times and finally forces him through the concrete ceiling. Bye. When he’s done, the wall is covered in craters from the impact.

Shigeo: Sorry for being so noisy.

Hanazawa: I see. . . You meant you didn’t have time to hold back on him. . .

The memory ends.]

[ yeah, of course the kid she had pegged as the most normal person here has magic. telekinesis? same thing. and of course it's absurdly strong even by the standards of their own world.

she'll get to the whole 'breaking into somewhere' thing later, but for now she's too startled to be polite about it or to monitor her language. ]

Holy shit, kid.

w4, sunday

[clem is in the plaza just kind of. brooding. as one does. but she'll glance up at mob when she sees him. ]

I've never seen bullets do that.

[ ........ said as if she really wishes she could make bullets do that. ]

[Cool, Clem. He wasn't pretty fond of Vezda or anything. No, it's fine, he doesn't think anything of her tone.]

It was strange. I guess the Realm was going to make sure he died even if Taako-san wouldn't go through with it.

[stillnot]

[ she thought vezda was cool, but she's very used to stealing herself when people die. ... probably not the most effective way to go about things when talking to other people, though! haha! ]

Hard to know when it's going to be stingy about its rules and when it's not.

[Nod. Nod.]

It seems like we could have refused to do the execution this entire time, and the Realm would have done it instead.

But I'm not sure that's a good thing.

I wonder how that impacts nova.

... Well, either way it's better to do it ourselves. There's no use not facing what this is.

Do you think so? [Hmm.] It probably made Vezda-san happy, though. That Taako-san would let him decide for himself.

week 7, friday

[ you did it! i'm not specifying location. this can be anywhere. don't ask me. ]

Glad you're okay.

[Yeah, I haven't even read locations this week it's fine. He's playing with his kitty, that's what matters.]

I'm glad you're okay, too.

Uh, thanks? [ she thinks that's a funny thing to say because she never really considered herself in danger? wow. ]

You - startled all of us. I probably should have sent a message or something.

It's all right. I sent one to Ochako-chan, so I thought maybe she'd. . .

[But who knows if she got it in time.]

It was all only an accident. I'm sorry I caused you so much trouble, when you already had so much to worry about.

Don't worry about that. The part that we were worrying about went smoothly.

[ like, getting sick wasn't great. but everyone scheming to vote for one person is very very easy when that person wanted to be caught to begin with. ]

Even if it hadn't, it wasn't really your fault.

["The part we were worrying about." Elsa. He thinks about her, and feels a little sad.]

. . . At least, I need to say thank you. If it weren't for you and Hilda-san having to go through all of that, I wouldn't have been able to come back.
