It's not like I wanted my group to get killed. I've had enough of being left behind when people die.

... No, I understand.

[A quiet sigh]

I am well accustomed to being the one who leaves behind students and family -- it is part of the reason why I volunteered. But many reminded me over these past few weeks of what becomes of those left behind, and why it is not a decision I can ever make lightly.

I would not have wanted you to die in my place, but... I appreciate that you thought of me -- of us -- anyway.

I'm afraid I disagree. When they are heartfelt, and carefully offered, I find them to be quite powerful.

[Maybe if they weren't stuck in a terrible numbers game where sacrifices had to be made... but it is what it is, and Chiron will still offer her a happy smile]

So even if you don't find yourself to be deserving of such, I still thank you for keeping me in mind.
